Dr.Lakshay Bhakhtiani
Dr. Lakshay Bhakhtiani is a highly accomplished and experienced physiotherapist with nearly 20 years of super speciality hospital experience globally in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Currently serving as the Head of the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Department at PSRI Hospital in South Delhi, he has made significant contributions to the advancement of therapeutic techniques, particularly in the areas of cardiopulmonary, upper extremity and neuro-rehabilitation.
Dr. Bhakhtiani’s career is marked by his leadership and innovative approach to patient care. He has been instrumental in setting up state-of-the-art physiotherapy and rehabilitation departments in various hospitals, where he leads a multidisciplinary team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and rehabilitation professionals. Under his leadership, personalized rehabilitation plans are developed for diverse patient populations, aiming to improve recovery outcomes across various clinical conditions.
His academic and clinical pursuits have also taken him to prestigious institutions abroad and he has received advanced training from the University of Toronto and University of Alberta in Canada, which has further honed his skills in complex rehabilitation. He holds a PhD scholarship and FCAP (Canada). He also earned gold medals and top ranks during his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physiotherapy and earning more than 20 international certifications, demonstrate his academic excellence.
Dr. Bhakhtiani’s clinical expertise spans several key areas, including cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, upper extremity therapy, and neuro-rehabilitation. He has worked alongside top renowned neuro-surgeons, cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons (CTVS), and orthopedic specialists of the country, contributing to complex recovery cases. His groundbreaking physiotherapy techniques have significantly enhanced recovery rates and patient satisfaction, earning him a strong reputation for delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
His excellence in patient care and clinical innovation has earned him the distinction of being the preferred consultant for the immediate family members of former political leaders, including the President and Prime Minister of India. He is training UG and PG students clinically since past 17 years including guiding their research projects
