Dr Vikas Mittal

Dr Vikas Mittal, a pulmonologist and sleep specialist by training has been working in field of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in India since 2003. He has studied from the most prestigious and best medical college of Delhi, India, Maulana Azad Medical College and did his post- graduation in Pulmonary Medicine from one of the best Pulmonary Medicine Institute in India, Vallabhbhai Patel Chest Institute, North Delhi, India. He has been working as a pulmonologist at Max Healthcare Ltd since 2009, which is one of the Best Hospital for Pulmonary Medicine in India. He has been instrumental in building up Department of Respiratory Medicine and Department of Sleep Disorders in Delhi at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, South Delhi and setting up Department of Chest Medicine and Sleep Lab at Manipal Hospital, Dwarka, South-West Delhi, India.

As a pulmonologist he has treated thousands of patients suffering from a variety of pulmonary and sleep disorders and he is a specialist in tuberculosis, asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease (lung fibrosis), sarcoidosis, lung cancer, obstructive sleep apnea. He is also a specialist in treating critical care patients on mechanical ventilator in the ICU which is also a domain best treated by a pulmonologist.

He has special interest in Interventional Pulmonology and is specialist in doing major and complex diagnostic and therapeutic pulmonary procedures and has done more than 2000 bronchoscopies/EBUS/Thoracoscopies in his carrier as Lungs Specialist/pulmonologist.

Currently, he is the Director Pulmonologist, ‘Wellness Home’ Chest Clinic and Sleep Centre in West Delhi, Paschim Vihar, West Delhi, India and Director Pulmonologist, CK Birla Hospital, Punjabi Bagh, West Delhi, India.

He is a compassionate pulmonologist with astute clinical skills and always gives his best. His strengths include being meticulous, diligent and academic. He is very dynamic but at the same time humble and down to earth, so easily approachable. He loves teaching and academic work.  He is strong believer that practice of medicine is “a science as well as an art” and practices evidence-based medicine with a practical individualised approach and human touch [sevabhav].

Another unique part of his practice is that he believes in working as a team with a group of best specialist doctors in West Delhi [equally trained as him and personally mentored by him].
