His medical legacy runs deep in his veins, as he is the son of the late Dr Shambhu Sharan, a highly respected cardiologist and physician who held prestigious qualifications including FRCP, MRCP, and DTM&H from London. This rich medical heritage has blossomed into a true dynasty of healing, with Dr Sharan’s wife, Dr Jasbir Sharan, serving as an accomplished obstetrician and gynecologist (MBBS, MS, FICS(USA)), his daughter Dr Nikita Sharan as a specialist radiologist (MBBS, DMRD), and his son Dr Nikhil Sharan as a laparoscopic surgeon and gastroenterologist (MBBS, MS). Together, they represent a multi-generational commitment to healthcare that has become the cornerstone of medical service in Motihari.

As Director of Sharan Nursing Home, Dr Sharan has balanced hands-on patient care with leadership roles that have shaped medical practice across Bihar. His professional stature is reflected in his prestigious fellowships—FAIS, FIAMS(India), and FICS(USA)—and his memberships in esteemed organizations including the IMA Academy of Medical Surgeons, the Association of Surgeons of India, the International College of Surgeons, and the Association of Eastern Urological Society of India. His leadership extends beyond clinical practice, as evidenced by his election as President-elect of IMA Bihar for 2026-2027, his service as President of IMA Motihari, and his role as Organizing Chairman of the 43rd Conference of the Association of Surgeons of India (Bihar Chapter).

He has served as President of the District Athletic Association Motihari, Chairman of TMT Prayas, and Member of the Working Committee of the Indian Red Cross in Motihari. During the challenging days of the pandemic, his leadership earned him recognition as a “Corona Warrior” from multiple organizations, including IMA Bihar State Branch and the District Administration of East Champaran. His work in tuberculosis eradication has been particularly impactful, earning special recognition from the Ministry of Health, Government of Bihar.
